Terms of use
These terms cover the Whirr app and website. By using Whirr you agree to them.
What Whirr is
Whirr connects you with independent repair shops and arranges courier pickup and return of small household appliances in Hyderabad. The repair itself is done by the shop. Whirr coordinates the service, takes payment and stands behind it as described here.
Your account
You sign in with Google and verify your mobile number. You must be an adult, give correct details, and keep your account to yourself. You can delete your account in the app at any time, subject to anything still open.
Requests, quotes and prices
- You describe the problem; repair shops send an estimate. You see the price that includes Whirr's charge, and nothing moves until you approve it.
- If the shop finds the repair will cost more than its estimate, you are asked again. If you decline the new price, you pay an inspection fee and the appliance is returned unrepaired.
- Logistics and any other fees are shown before you pay. The fees for pickup, return, cancellation after a courier is on the way, and rebooking a missed slot are shown in the app.
- Payment for the repair is taken after the repair is done, and the appliance is returned after payment.
Pickup and return
You choose a pickup slot and must be available. If you miss a slot, a rebooking fee may apply. Please photograph the appliance when it is collected and when it comes back, as the app asks. These photos help us settle any dispute about damage.
Warranty
After delivery, a warranty window applies to the repair. If the same problem comes back within it, you can raise a warranty request in the app. It goes to the same shop at no charge to you, and Whirr arranges the pickup and return. Warranty covers the repaired fault, not new damage or misuse.
Damage or loss in transit
If your appliance is damaged or lost on the way, report it in the app. Our team reviews it and may compensate you, up to a limit based on the type of appliance and a cap set by Whirr.
Safety
Stop using an appliance that smells of burning, sparks, gives a shock or has been in contact with water, and do not try to open or repair it yourself. Whirr may decline items it considers unsafe to move.
Privacy
You and the repair shop never learn who each other are. Contact goes through Whirr. Please do not try to find or contact the shop directly. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.
Whirr coins
Coins are a thank-you for using Whirr. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money, and Whirr may change or end the scheme.
Our responsibility
We do our best to run a reliable service, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, Whirr's responsibility for a repair is limited to the amount you paid for it, apart from compensation under the damage and warranty sections above. Nothing here limits any right you have under Indian consumer law.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app.
